Log 2:
Catalina Island

Sunday/Monday September 8/9
Had a great time in Fallbrook with friends Geoff and Judy Siodmak. They welcomed us to their beautiful home on a hill top where you could see all the way to the ocean 10 miles away. Had a great dinner and a swim in their infinity pool and a soak in their hot tub under the stars. The next day Geoff and Dave

Log 3:
San Diego

We have been in San Diego for the last month and a half. We did lots of stuff, mostly boat work. Dave met up with John Hale, an old friend from his high school days. John is Battalion 1 in down town San Diego. Nothing has changed in 30 years, John and Dave still know how to have a good time. 30 years ago John and Dave were escorted

Log 4:
BaHa HaHa

Greetings from the Mexican coast of Baha. So far we've been very fortunate on having bright spots on every leg of the "nonrace". Turtle Bay was a very small rural community right on the bay that has through the years catered to the annual Baha invasion. This year 104 boats and over 400 people hit the little town starting on Thursday

Log 5:
Cabo

Water temperature 81 degrees! Air temp 85 degrees. I spent 6 years in a cold plastic tent building Freebird. I can't describe how good it feels to jump in the water and swim under the boat. We are anchored off the beach in Cabo San Lucas. The water is crystal clear. There are little beach bars along the beach with good margaritas and lobster.

Log 6:
Cabo to La Paz

Tuesday November, 12 2002
We sail to a really pretty little bay called Bahia Santa Maria. We anchor and spend the day snorkeling and hanging out on the beach. The water is so clear that I can see the anchor dug into the bottom in 30 feet of water. I dive down and check it out to make sure it's set properly. There are a

Log 7:
Estiritu Santo
to Mazatlan

Monday November 25, 2002
Well were off to the islands. We feel like we should have stayed in La Paz longer. There is so much to do and see there and we just grazed the surface. We have made some friends and some of them are staying some are heading to other destinations and some are headed our way. That's the way it is out here. You never say good by.

Log 8:
Isla Isabella

December 8, 2002
As we are writing this we are sailing, the moon and stars are all out. We left at 6:30 on Monday Dec. th, with quite a launch through the sea wall. We had to gun the motors with the swells coming over the bow of the boat. We knew we were going to have an overnight sail so we took a local bus to the main

Log 9:
Puerto Villarta

From December 15, 2002
to Jan 27, 2003

Dave just returned with the dinghy from surfing some small waves that are visible just a short distance from the boat. What a luxury to be able to surf in 83 degree water without driving anywhere and mostly without crowds of people in the water.
